Gov. Kim Reynolds orders flags to be raised to full-staff from sunrise to sunset on Monday, recognizing the presidential inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump. Flags were currently ordered to be at half-staff until Jan. 28, in remembrance of the late President Jimmy Carter who passed away in December. Reynolds orders the flags to be raised for Monday only, to honor the transition of the new administration. Reynolds says “On Monday, President Donald J. Trump will be officially sworn into office as the 47th President of the United States. Iowa will celebrate and recognize this historic change in our country’s leadership by raising our flags.” Flags will be raised to full staff at the Iowa State Capitol building and on all state buildings throughout Iowa. Flags will be lowered again to half-staff from sunrise on Jan. 21 to sunset Jan. 28, to finish out the order for President Jimmy Carter.
