Iowa DNR Sets Public Meetings On Hunting, Trapping Seasons; Lake View To Host Again

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will hold a series of public meetings to review the recently concluded hunting and trapping seasons and discuss potential changes to related rules and regulations. The town hall-style meetings will allow attendees to ask questions and share feedback on proposed rule changes. DNR Wildlife Bureau Chief Todd Bishop says, “We want people to come out to these meetings, listen to the seasons’ reviews, ask questions, and hear directly from our staff.” Public input gathered during these meetings will be considered alongside other comments received by the DNR before any rule changes are proposed. Final proposals will be presented to the Natural Resource Commission during a public meeting for additional input and consideration. Twenty meetings are scheduled, including one hosted in Lake View on Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Speaker Park Shelter House. A complete list of the scheduled DNR meetings is included below.
