Iowa PBS will showcase the talents of nearly 5,000 high school and college athletes in its coverage of the 2025 Iowa State Dance Team Championships, airing next week. The program will premiere Monday, Jan. 20, at 8 p.m. and rebroadcast Sunday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. The championships were held Dec.4 through Dec. 6 at Wells Fargo Arena and Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines and featured hours of dedicated athletes performing in categories such as pom, jazz, hip-hop, kick, lyrical, prop, novelty, color guard, and more. The program will also be available for streaming at www.iowapbs.org. Local performers making the podium include Azaya Martinez of Ar-We-Va in Class II Solo, Kerigan Schreck and Hailee Behrens of Kuemper Catholic in Class IV Solo, and Claire Behrens, Adalyn Stribe, Reagan Hoffman, and Oriah Meiners of IKM-Manning in Class I Color. Several local teams, including East Sac County, Ar-We-Va, Carroll, Kuemper Catholic, South Central Calhoun, Glidden-Ralson, and IKM-Manning, finished in the top five in their respective classes.
