The Lake City City Council has approved of a design and will be moving forward to updating the city’s logo. The idea was brought to the attention of city officials months ago when city council reviewed the proposal of purchasing banners to hang up around the community. City Administrator Jacob Matthews says while the new banners would encompass organizations and ideas that represent Lake City, he and many residents believed the city’s logo should have the same.
Council members reviewed multiple logo designs, some of which features iconic features of the Lake City community. Matthews says this design was picked for its simplicity, yet elegance, which includes the colors that were chosen.
Individuals will be noticing the new logo on all publications from the city, as well as on the website immediately. The new branding will slowly be placed on city property, vehicles and other places around Lake City as maintenance is completed. Matthews says city officials and residents are excited to be establishing the new logo for the community, creating a strong brand, a sense of pride and consistency on how Lake City is represented.
