A local musician has been added to the list of inductees for the 2025 Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. Singer and songwriter Chad Elliott and various other solo artists, bands, venues, and other music-related organizations were selected for the 28th year of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association’s award. Elliott says this recognition is very validating, and he is proud to be able to have his name displayed on the wall with other influential artists.

While growing up around music and learning to play multiple instruments in school, Elliott says it wasn’t until he was older that he discovered his true passion for music.

Honorees inducted into the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame usually have been working in the music industry for at least 25 years and contribute to the music culture in Iowa. Elliott says many inductees this year are huge music supporters for today’s youth.

Elliott is busy touring full-time as a solo artist and part of a duo group, Weary Ramblers, that was considered for nomination for Emmy Awards. Alongside his music journey, Elliott and his wife, Alyssa, opened Elliott Art Studio, a space to create and display different works of art, host live musical performances, and much more. Elliott will join the 30+ other inductees Labor Day Weekend in Okoboji for a festival full of music and will be presented with the award on Sunday, Aug. 31.
