The Glidden-Ralston Community School District is pursuing a voter-approved Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) to assist in funding renovations and repairs to the building. This is the first time the district is looking to seek approval from district stakeholders. Several projects are proposed to be funded by the PPEL levy, including bathroom renovations to meet ADA standards, fire safety features of new fire mains along the stairwells, and a new secure entry and office location for added safety precautions for students and staff. The tax on the proposed levy will be $1.34 per $1,000 of taxable valuation and will be implemented in fiscal year (FY) 2026. The vote will take place on March 4, asking for a yes or no for the district to borrow money. Resident’s taxes would levy that for the next ten years. Anyone with additional questions or concerns is asked to contact G-R Superintendent Tom Ridder at 712-659-3411.
