Carroll City Council Meets Monday For FY26 Budget Work Session

The Carroll City Council will dive into Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 budget preparations next week with the first in a series of planned work sessions. The council convenes at 5:15 p.m. at Carroll City Hall. No action items are on the agenda, but the council is expected to spend several hours reviewing the FY26 Preliminary Budget that has been prepared by staff. The nearly 300-page document includes general budget overviews, property tax reports, individual department breakdowns, and much more. City staff is projecting a minor increase in the city’s property tax rate, which is forecasted to rise by less than two-tenths of a cent from $12.16046 per $1,000 of taxable valuation to $12.16190. Monday’s budget work session is open to the public and will be live-streamed via the city’s YouTube channel. Links to the agenda, video, and preliminary budget are included with this story on our website.
