Fuel prices in the state continued to rise in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Feb. 5, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.97, up two cents on the week and 13 cents higher than a year ago. The national average was up one cent to $3.13 per gallon. As for retail diesel, prices rose five cents to $3.47 per gallon, compared to the $3.67 national average. Iowa prices are currently six cents below prices from a year ago. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged from $2.16. In heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site rose 16 cents to $3.28 per MMBtu. Propane prices and home heating oil held steady at $1.68 per gallon and $3.03 per gallon, respectively.
