Today (Tuesday) is the official kickoff of the Carroll High School (CHS) Foundation’s fifth annual Kindness fundraiser to promote positivity and support in the community while raising funding for academics at Carroll Community School District (CCSD). What started as an event to replace the Tiger Trot which had to be cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, has become a favorite of students and members in the community. CHS Foundation Treasurer Katie Kruse says this year’s theme is “It’s Cool to be Kind” and will operate similar to past fundraisers.

Kruse says the CHS Foundation works very similar to what other districts may call an academic booster club.

Along with the acts of kindness that are implemented with donations, Kruse says daily kindness tips and simple challenges are given to students and staff at all buildings in the district.

Donations can be mailed to PO Box 314, Carroll Iowa 51401, or can donate right online using the link included below. T-shirts and sweatshirts are also available for purchase. Kruse says some of the fundraisers events are planned out by three high school students, who really thought of a way to promote kindness throughout the Carroll community this year.
