Iowans saw minimal changes in fuel prices at the pump this week, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Feb. 12, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.95, down two cents from last week but still four cents more than a year ago. The national average on Wednesday rose two cents per gallon to $3.15. Retail diesel prices in Iowa also fell two cents on average to $3.45 per gallon, 33 cents below 2024’s prices. Compared to the $3.67 national average for diesel, local prices remained 22 cents below that mark. Wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.16. In-home heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site jumped 26 cents to $3.54 per MMBtu, propane prices dropped one cent to $1.67 per gallon, and home heating oil prices also declined by a cent to $3.02 per gallon.
