The Carroll County Board of Supervisors will host two meetings next week, one on Tuesday and the other on Thursday, as the county nears the end of its Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 budget preparations. The Tuesday, Feb. 18 meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the Carroll County Courthouse. The supervisors open with an FY26 funding request from the county’s libraries, including Carroll, Coon Rapids, Glidden, and Manning. The board will then review the FY26 salary spreadsheet alongside the county’s fund balances. The only other items of business on Tuesday’s agenda are to set a public hearing to rezone six parcels in the former two-mile zoning area surrounding Carroll and Glidden, manure management annual updates, and committee reports. The Thursday, Feb. 20, meeting opens at 10 a.m. at the courthouse and focuses entirely on budget work. The board will finalize the FY26 budget for six county departments, set non-union and non-elected staff salaries, and determine elected officials’ compensation. Once that is completed, the supervisors can calculate the county’s FY26 property tax levy and set the required public hearing. Both meetings are open to the public and will be live-streamed via the county’s YouTube channel. Links to the agenda and video are included with this story on our website.
