Audubon County Public Health will be hosting an open house tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, celebrating the new clinical office space in Exira. The new building is at 108 W. Washington St, which opened as the organization’s new clinic location earlier this year. Both Audubon County Public Health and the county’s Board of Health members have been working on obtaining the space since 2023, and received a grant from the Heart of Iowa to aid in renovating the previous laundromat to a space with four offices and a conference room. Audubon County Public Health is contracted with services through Guthrie County, and currently has offices in Guthrie Center and at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon. Executive Director Jotham Arber says the real push behind the move was to expand clinical services, such as vaccinations, mental health services and more into their own space, to not override services that are offered out at the hospital. The Exira office will also serve as a second location for the Audubon County Emergency Management, and provide communities trainings for CPR certification, first aid and more. Everyone is invited to join public health staff and board of health members to tour the new building and have any questions answered. Again, the Audubon County Public Health open house of the new Exira office will be tomorrow (Tuesday) from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
