Instructional Coach, Ryan Simmelink, Hired As New Fairview Elementary Principal

Ryan Simmelink has been approved by the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education to serve as the next Fairview Elementary Principal beginning next school year. During the October 2024 board meeting, members approved the resignation of current Fairview Principal Sue Ruch, who has a combined 44 years of service in the school setting. Simmelink has worked for CCSD for the past 19 years, first as a fourth-grade teacher before transitioning to the instructional coach position in 2020. Simmelink says he is grateful for the years at CCSD and looks forward to his new administration role.

Simmelink says he has been considering transitioning into the principal role for over a decade but has been waiting for the right opportunity.

He mentioned that this was not always a passion he shared.

Simmelink looks forward to working with staff and students and continuing to promote Fairview Elementary’s great work. He wishes Sue Ruch the best on her retirement and thanks her for her years of service to the Carroll School District.
