Iowa Fuel Report: Feb. 26, 2025

Iowans saw modest declines at the pump over the last week in the latest fuel report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Feb. 26, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.96, down five cents from last week and three cents below prices from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was down three cents to $3.13 per gallon. In Iowa retail diesel, the average fell two cents to $3.44 per gallon, compared to $3.81 this time last year. Local prices held below the $3.68 national average. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged from $2.16. As for heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site were down 21 cents to $3.99 per MMBtu, propane prices rose two cents to $1.69 per gallon, and home heating oil prices dipped three cents to $3.02 per gallon.
