Carroll County Supervisors To Potentially Reconsider Sheriff’s Office Staff Salaries At Monday’s Meeting

The Carroll County Board of Supervisors will consider adjusting previously approved salary increases to sheriff’s office/communication center staff, road contracts, and a tentative agreement with the Carroll County Paramedic Association at their meeting on Monday. The supervisors convene at 9 a.m. at the Carroll County Courthouse. The first item of business is a request from County Sheriff Ken Pingrey to redistribute the five percent raise proposed for the sheriff’s position to his employees. It is not clear if such a request could be approved, as the supervisors have already approved elected office and staff pay adjustments, and reconfiguring the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 budget this late in the process could prove challenging. The board will also review and potentially award a contract for a secondary roads project and vote on a resolution granting the county engineer authority to execute the contract. Negotiations with the Carroll County Paramedic Association are nearly concluded, and the board will consider approving the updated agreement. Other business includes setting a public hearing on a request to vacate a survey, approving the county’s Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) contribution for the FY26 budget, and reviewing manure management updates. The board will conclude with committee reports. Monday’s meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed via the county’s YouTube channel. Links to the agenda and video are included below.
