Glidden Ralston Reminding Residents To Come Vote On Tuesday On PPEL Levy For School Improvement Projects

Residents of the Glidden-Ralston Community School District are asked to come vote on Tuesday for a special election for the district to allocate funding for various improvement projects through a Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL). This is the first time G-R CSD is looking to obtain a voter approved levy from stakeholders. Several projects will be funded through this levy, including renovations to bathrooms, fire safety features along stairwells and relocating central office to be closer to the main entrance. The impact expected on taxpayers will be $1.34 per $1,000 of taxable valuation, and will be implemented starting in fiscal year 2026 and be levied for the next ten years. Voting polls open at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Glidden Community Meeting Room at 110 N. Idaho St and will close at 8 p.m. In order to pass, 50 percent plus one need to be in favor of the levy.
