Calhoun County Farm Family To Join Rep. Feenstra For Pres. Trump’s Address To Joint Session Of Congress

A Calhoun County farm family will join U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Iowa) in Washington, D.C. tomorrow (Tuesday) during President Donald Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress. Brad Moline and his daughter, Ava, who raise turkeys on their century-old farm in Manson, were chosen to highlight Iowa’s deep history of family-run farms and the impact highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has had on producers like the Molines. Feenstra says, “Ensuring that our farm traditions can continue in rural Iowa is a top priority for me. It’s why I’m working to pass the Farm Bill, combat the devastating bird flu outbreak, and eliminate the death tax for good. Representing the second largest ag-producing district in the country, I remain committed to protecting our family farms, supporting our turkey farmers, and ensuring that legacies like the Moline family’s can be preserved and passed along.” Feenstra adds the Moline Family Farm celebrated 100 years of operation in 2024, with 16-year-old Ava representing the family’s fourth generation of involvement.
