A Lenox woman has entered a plea agreement with prosecutors for one count second-degree criminal mischief for damaging three statues at the Sacred Heart Church cemetery in Templeton. According to Carroll County District Court records, 39-year-old Amanda Lea Jackson was witnessed driving recklessly out of the cemetery in a 2011 Chevy Equinox around 11:50 a.m. on Oct. 29, 2024 and identified on security camera at a nearby gas station wearing the same slippers that were recovered at the scene. Damages to the statues is estimated to be around $13,500. Jackson had pled guilty to one count of second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, and per the agreement the other charge will be dismissed. She still will be required to pay victim restitution for both charges. A plea hearing has been scheduled for March 13 at the Carroll County Courthouse. Jackson is facing a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
