The City of Manning will be implementing a smart text messaging service to individuals, introducing a new and faster way of communication between residents and various organizations. TextMyGov will send registered users different notifications, such as garbage delays, water main breaks, etc., as well as events and information from Manning Area Partners, Manning Municipal Utilities, Parks and Recreation and the Hausbarn-Heritage Park. The new system will launch on March 24, which residents can opt-out of at any time. The feature will also allow residents to receive on-demand information anytime by texting a few keywords to Manning’s TextMyGov phone number, like events on the community calendar, services and more. Individuals will also be able to report issues to the city via the texting software. City officials are excited to be implementing this 21st century solution to Manning residents and visitors, enhancing services to the community with this new way of communication.
