U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) has announced the launch of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District. The annual contest, organized by members of the U.S. House of Representatives, encourages students nationwide to showcase their artistic talents. One winner from Iowa’s 4th District will have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year and will be invited to attend a special congressional reception in Washington, D.C. Additionally, three runners-up will have their artwork exhibited in Feenstra’s district offices located in Sioux City, Fort Dodge, and Council Bluffs. Feenstra says, “I’m excited to kick off the Congressional Art Competition for students in the 4th District to showcase their artistic abilities and compete for a chance to have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol or one of our three district offices. This competition gives our young people the opportunity to have fun while engaging with government. I encourage any student interested to submit their artwork by the April 25 deadline to our Fort Dodge office. I look forward to reviewing the submissions and seeing the artwork up in Washington, D.C., and our district offices.” Artwork will be judged on originality, concept, technique, creativity, and district representation. Submissions are due by April 25, 2025, at 5 p.m. and must include at least two clear photos of the artwork. Full submission details and rules are available by reaching out to Feenstra’s staff, and contact details are included with this story on our website. Winners will be announced in May.
