Nine speech students from two local schools have earned nominations to the Iowa High School Speech Association’s (IHSSA) Individual Events All-State Festival hosted at the end of the month. The festival will be held Monday, March 31, on the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) campus in Cedar Falls. Two entries were nominated from IKM-Manning: Emily Albertsen in Original Oratory and Ma’Kai Protho in Solo Musical Theatre. Both IKM-Manning nominees will perform at All-State. Kuemper Catholic High School has five students nominated to perform: Joel Schultes and Joeseph Masching in Improvisation, Laura Steinkamp and Logan Rial in Solo Musical Theatre, and Regan Garringer in Prose. Two Kuemper students also earned non-performing nods: Simon Pietig in Acting and Louis Meyers in Solo Musical Theatre.
