Gov. Reynolds Issues Disaster Proclamations For Crawford, Shelby Counties

Gov. Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for five Iowa counties following severe winter weather that struck the state on Wednesday. The proclamation covers Crawford, Harrison, Monona, Shelby, and Woodbury counties, allowing state resources to be used for response and recovery efforts in the affected areas. Additionally, the order temporarily suspends regulations in the Iowa Code related to hours of service for disaster repair crews and drivers delivering essential goods and services to disaster sites. It also lifts certain requirements for transportation of materials needed for disaster repairs on Iowa highways. The proclamation takes effect immediately and will remain in place until April 3. The governor’s complete order is included below.
