Hospice of the Midwest Guthrie Center location has been recognized for its high quality and compassionate patient care with the 2025 Quality Award for Small Branches. The award is presented to local branches under Hospice of the Midwest, celebrating the outstanding achievements of the branch and the team members displaying excellence in patient care, growth, and leadership. The Guthrie Center location earned high ranking results on several key performance metrics, including exceeding the 12 score target on the quality scorecard with 13.1, 8.5 percent live discharge rate, which is under the 20 percent goal, 98.17 percent rate of attending visits near death, scored 78.3 percent on Hospice Visits Last Days of Life, which is 30 percent higher than national average and earned a perfect score of 10 on CMS Hospice Care Index for care process throughout entire hospice stay. Hospice of the Midwest IA Regional Administrator Lynnea Andersen says, “We are extremely proud of our staff for their unwavering dedication to providing patients and families with high quality, compassionate, and supportive care during the end stages of one’s life.
