The Calhoun County Opioid Settlement Committee will be hosting three free Narcan training sessions to train individuals to administer the treatment in case of an opioid overdose. The nasal spray works as an opioid antagonist, reversing or reducing the effects of opioids that can be found in prescription pain medication and street drugs such as fentanyl and heroin. Each training will last approximately one hour, and free Narcan and snacks will be provided. The first training is on Wednesday evening, March 26, at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital – lower-level Conference Room, starting at 5:30 p.m. The next training is on April 2 at the Calhoun County Public Health office, 501 Court St. in Rockwell City starting at 5 p.m. The final training is at the VFW Manson Hall at 1321 10th Ave in Manson at 5:30 p.m. on April 16.
