A Coon Rapids man was airlifted with serious injuries Friday afternoon after rolling his tractor into a ditch in Guthrie County. According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at approximately 4:26 p.m. south of Coon Rapids near the Elk Grove Wildlife Management Area. Authorities say 62-year-old Daniel Lee Royer of Coon Rapids was operating a John Deere tractor northbound on Chestnut Avenue when the equipment lost power, causing it to swerve across the oncoming lanes and into the ditch. Another motorist witnessed the crash and saw Royer crawling from the scene. He was transported to Audubon County Fairgrounds by Audubon County Emergency Medical Services to meet an air ambulance to be transferred to a Des Moines Hospital.
