Gasoline prices rose in Iowa by several cents over the past week, according to the latest report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, March 26, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $3.03, five cents higher than a week ago but 29 cents below prices from this time last year. The national average also rose by five cents to $3.15 per gallon. In Iowa retail diesel, prices held steady at $3.33 per gallon, compared to $3.78 per gallon a year ago. Local prices are 28 cents lower than the $3.61 national average. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged from $2.16. As for heating fuels, natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site were down 26 cents at $3.89 per MMBtu. Propane prices dipped one cent to $1.64 per gallon, while home heating oil prices rose two cents to $2.86 per gallon.
