At its meeting earlier this week, the Carroll City Council fast-tracked an ordinance amendment for internal petty cash policies. At Monday’s meeting, City Finance Director Laura Schaefer brought the proposed amendment to the council for consideration. She says several of the city’s departments have requested additional funds for hosting events.
Schaefer adds that the library is also requesting a minor change in their allowance for small fees and transactions that patrons routinely pay for with cash. She says the previous ordinance limited the cash drawer too much for it to be useful.
The council voted unanimously to approve the ordinance amendment’s first reading and waive the second and third readings before adopting the ordinance. A copy of the amended ordinance’s new language can be found included below.
