High school graduation rate in Iowa climbs up to 88.3 percent for the class of 2024, with most of the listening area schools’ rates significantly higher than the state-wide average. The Iowa Department of Education viewed data of graduating students in districts around the state to calculate the four-year cohort graduation rate. This year is the first year that the Iowa Department of Education is reporting numbers that reflect the pre-pandemic graduation rates. Glidden-Ralston CSD leads the pack with a 100 percent graduation rate for the Class of 2024, followed by East Sac County with 97.4 percent. Carroll CSD is right behind East Sac at 97.3 percent, with Audubon CSD .5 points behind at 96.8 percent. IKM-Manning is just shy of 96 with 95.9 percent. South Central Calhoun has a 92.6 percentage rate, with Coon Rapids-Bayard being the only district just slightly below the state-wide average at 88 percent. Ar-We-Va CSD had to little of data reported to calculate the graduation rate, however in the 2023-2024 school year reported zero students that dropped out.
