The Sac City City Council has approved a community member’s plan to organize a farmer’s market on an empty lot in the city over the summer months. City Administrator Jamie Lawrence says farmer’s markets are a great way to bring individuals into Sac City and provide local vendors with additional opportunities to sell products.
Lund first requested the farmer’s market to be set up along the sidewalk, which the council did not approve of. Lund then asked if the open grass lot on the corner of North 5th Street and Williams Street would serve as a better location, and the council agreed. Lawrence says this farmer’s market is a new event that will happen every Saturday over the summer.
Lund will release more details on the dates, times, and vendors within the next few weeks.
