IEDA Awards Calhoun County Economic Development $10,000 BOOST Grant

This week, the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) announced Calhoun County will receive a $10,000 grant through the agency’s Building Ownership & Organization by Strengthening Teams (BOOST) program.  Calhoun County Economic Development (CCED) will use the funds to draft a marketing strategy to attract businesses and service providers to the Calhoun County Business Park. The 13.2-acre shovel-ready site is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 20 and Iowa Highway 4 and offers significant potential for growth and investment, according to CCED staff. Other $10,000 recipients include Imogene in Fremont County, Jackson County, and Sibley in Osceola County, with projects ranging from infrastructure planning to housing and workforce succession. The grants are part of the Governor’s Empower Rural Iowa Initiative, which helps communities of fewer than 20,000 residents develop and implement strategic growth plans.
