Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) in Lake City has named Sara Holst as the second recipient of its Path to Excellence Employee Recognition Award, honoring her dedication, leadership, and career growth within the organization. Holst, now the patient access clinic supervisor, began her 15-year journey at SMCH in housekeeping. Over a decade later, she transitioned to patient registration, despite having no prior computer experience. With determination and support from hospital leadership, she mastered the Epic system, which the hospital uses for recordkeeping, and became a certified trainer. SMCH CEO Linn Block says, “Sara’s growth within the organization and her unwavering commitment to Stewart Memorial’s values make her an ideal recipient of this award. Her passion for helping others and her ability to continuously adapt and grow inspire us all to reach higher standards of service.” Block adds her commitment to compassionate service is evident in her daily interactions as a welcoming first point of contact for patients.
