Carroll County Conservation is celebrating Earth Day a little earlier than usual this year, with the 2025 Earth Day STEM festival coming up this weekend at Swan Lake State Park. The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at the Swan Lake Conservation Education Center. Earth Day falls on Tuesday, April 22, but Environmental Education Coordinator Kristen Bieret says they are celebrating early.
Bieret says they have a full slate of fun activities planned, mostly geared toward younger kids and their families.
Bieret adds that the best part about their STEM Earth Day Festival is that is practically all free for attendees.
Bieret thanks the many partners who helped bring the festival to life, including the Carroll County Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Carroll Children’s Museum, Whiterock Conservancy, Racoon River Watershed Association, and Iowa PBS.
