CCSD Board Of Education Reviews FY26 Budget Summary At Monday Night’s Work Session

With the April 30 deadline fast approaching to certify the Fiscal Year 2026 budget, the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education reviewed the budget summary to prepare for the next public hearing on April 21. Director of Business Affairs Nicole McCarville says the district already has held the public hearing for the proposed property tax rate of $9.97599 per $1,000 of assessed taxable valuation, an approximate 13-cent increase. McCarville says the district will see an increase of 4.8 percent from the just shy of $11 million levied on property taxes last year.

The tax levy also includes two percent State Supplement Aid (SSA), which was sent to the Governor’s desk this week. McCarville says there is a three percent decrease in income surtax, even though CCSD has calculated a higher percentage than the previous fiscal year on the Income Surtax Levy (ISL).

CCSD projects total revenue of just over $43 million and expenditures of around $35 million. McCarville says the district is projecting an increase in instructional expenses for FY26.

The total for other expenditures, however, is decreasing by .4 percent.

The public hearing on the certified budget for FY26 will be held before the board’s next meeting on April 21 at 6:30 p.m. A copy of the proposed budget summary is included below.
