Everyone that is available is asked to roll up their sleeves and take advantage of the beautiful weekend weather Saturday by assisting with the second annual Carroll Community Cleanup Day. Kuemper Catholic High School Junior, Rhyem Wendl organized the event last year with her mom, Holly Wendl, after seeing trash in ditches around Carroll during spring break. The first event was a success, with 96 volunteers filling up three trailers of garbage off the ground and raised $3,670 for local youth organizations and non-profits. Anyone wishing to participate is asked to meet at the Hoyt Mansion Courtyard at 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning, where they will be assigned specific public places around Carroll to clean up. Volunteers are asked to bring own gloves but all other supplies will be provided. Sponsors will again donate per volunteer to various organizations. Complimentary drinks and pizza will be at the Hoyt Courtyard following the clean up around noon. Again, to celebrate Earth Day, everyone is welcome to come help make and keep Carroll clean with the second annual Carroll Community Cleanup Day this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
