Iowans for Tax Relief (ITR), a non-profit organization that advocates for reduction in spending and taxation at all levels of government, has released its newest tool focused on school performance: the ITR Report Card. Each public school in Iowa now has a third-party dedicated page that offers an in-depth look at tax revenues, graduation rates, ACT scores, grade-level proficiencies, student achievement, spending, and enrollment trends across Iowa’s public schools. ITR Foundation Research Director Sarah Curry says, “As both a policy researcher and a mom of three, I know how important it is to have trustworthy information about our schools. Too often, parents and school board members want to be engaged but simply don’t have the data they need. The ITR Report Card changes that. It’s about facts, not politics—ensuring every child in Iowa has access to a quality education and every taxpayer knows how their dollars are being spent.” The site presents data in a clear, user-friendly format, allowing users to compare districts on metrics like academic performance, resource allocation, and population changes.
