Exira Man Placed On Probation On Deferred Judgement After Admitting To Possessing 248 Grams Of Psilocybin Mushrooms

An Exira man who was facing multiple drug felony charges had all charges dismissed but one with a deferred judgment sentencing and was placed on probation. According to Audubon County District Court records 39-year-old Nathan Alan Thomas Hansen Johnson entered a plea agreement with prosecutors to one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a class C felony. After a search warrant was conducted on a residence in the 300 block of S Carthage Street in Exira, authorities discovered illegal drugs, marijuana, and psychedelic mushroom products, along with a scale. Hansen Johnson admitted to having individuals come to this house for drug sales and that it has been going on since at least November 2022. He also admitted to giving illegal substances to his minor daughter. Per the probation requirements, Hansen Johnson must receive drug and alcohol evaluation, abstain from all controlled substances, and have no criminal law violations during the probationary period. Hansen Johnson was also ordered to pay a $1,000 civil penalty.
