CCSD Board Of Education Will Wrap Up Negotiations For Salaries, Review Cell Phone Police And More During Upcoming Meeting On Monday Night

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education meets on Monday, with two public hearings, a presentation, and wrapping up negotiations as just a few items on the agenda. The meeting will begin with the public hearing for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 budget amendment, followed by the public hearing for the certified FY26 budget. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says the board will hear a presentation on the district’s career and academic planning plan for the upcoming school year.

The board will then review the administrative and personnel reports and approve 13 snacks and food donations for the Adams Elementary Color Fun Run and for teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 5 through May 9. Berlau says the district will then review board policies that need revising due to the legislation passed.

The board will consider the Carroll Area Child Care Center (CACCC) request to use school buses during special trips over the summer to the Breda Park, Lake View Park and Splash Pad and the Starline Lanes for bowling. Annual agreements will be reviewed and approved for transportation sharing between Glidden Ralston CSD and Kuemper Catholic, as well as cooperative agreements for sports activities like swimming, golf, and girls’ soccer with surrounding districts. With the 2024-25 school year almost wrapping up, Berlau says the board will review the language for the student handbook regarding cell phones.

The meeting will wrap up negotiations by approving the Carroll Education Support Association (CESA) agreement for salaries, handbook revisions, and turn-in bonuses. Quotes for Chromebook, HVAC control unit for Adam Elementary’s kitchen area, Teacher Leadership Committee (TLC) plan revisions, and business office to discuss certifying the FY26 budget, basic life insurance, and more to conclude the meeting. The CCSD Board of Education meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at Adams Elementary School, and the public is welcome to attend.
