According to the latest report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa, movement in the fuel market was muted over the past week. As of Wednesday, April 23, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.98, even with last week’s average and 31 cents below prices from a year ago. The national average for gas on Wednesday was $3.17 per gallon, the same as the prior week. As for retail diesel in Iowa, the average rose two cents to $3.37 per gallon, 39 cents below last year’s prices. Local prices remain 20 cents below the national average of $3.57. Ethanol fuel blends came in from the Des Moines Terminal at $2.06 for E10, $2.42 for Unleaded 87, $2.30 for ULSD#2, $2.54 for ULSD#1, and $1.95 per gallon on E70. Natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site were down 20 cents to $3.07 per MMBtu.
