Glidden residents are advised that the 2025 Street Maintenance project is expected to begin this upcoming Monday. The contractor, Blacktop Service Company out of Humbolt, will start along Arizona Street, W 3rd Street between Idaho Street and Montana Street, then along Montana from 3rd to 4th Street. Blacktop crews will grind down the road to even out deteriorating and repave with asphalt to make the street smooth to drive on again. Following the completion of that, if allocated funding is still available, the crews will move to other areas around town that is believed to be the next highest level of need as of road maintenance. Commuters are to be advised that driveways may be temporarily affected, but streets will remain passable once ground down. Once Blacktop begins working, the City of Glidden will provide update information next week to keep residents informed. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact City Hall at 712-659-3010.
