An Altoona man was taken into custody Monday morning on a Carroll County warrant for charges of allegedly tampering with witnesses, assault and harassment. According to Carroll County District Court records, on April 4, 25-year-old Trenton Alan Miller allegedly assaulted another individual in the 900 block of Amy Circle in Carroll. After a discussion was had between the two, Miller hit the victim with a closed fist from behind and continued to hit and assault the individual when on the ground. Miller then threatened the victim and the family saying that he would kill them if they got law enforcement involved. Miller has since been released from custody after posting a $25,000 surety bond. He is currently facing charges of tampering with witness, a class C felony, first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 8 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If convicted, Miller can face a maximum sentence of up to 13 years in prison and over $24,000 in fines.
