The Carroll Community School District has scheduled open houses, orientation and schedule pickup for high school students prior to the start of the 2020/21 school year. High school students will be picking up their schedules in mid-August on specified days, all from 8 a.m. to noon and then 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Seniors will pick theirs up Wednesday, Aug. 12; juniors Thursday, Aug. 13; and sophomores and freshmen on Friday, Aug. 14. The open houses will be held Thursday Aug. 20 with all taking place from 4:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and include Fairview Elementary for kindergarten through second grade, Adams Elementary and the Carroll Middle School. Students and parents are encouraged to attend and they may bring their school supplies and lunch money at that time. The first day of school is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 25. The Fairview preschool open house will be Thursday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and parents are encouraged to bring their student as well as their supplies. The first day of preschool is Monday, Aug. 31. Ninth-grade orientation for all Carroll and Ar-We-Va students will be held on Thursday, Aug. 20 and is organized by last name. Students whose last names start with A through F will attend from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.; G through L from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.; M through R from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.; and S through W from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Incoming freshmen are expected to attend at their assigned times and parent orientation will be done virtually with more information shared on that in August.
