Coon Rapids Man Pleads Not Guilty To Harassment And Stalking Charges

A Coon Rapids man accused of trapping a man with his car and threatening to kill him has filed not guilty pleas to the charges levied against him in District Court for Carroll County. Court records show 39-year-old Kaleb Wayne Wiles filed his written pleas late last week to first-degree harassment and first-degree stalking, aggravated misdemeanors. The charges stem from an incident near the intersection of 4th Avenue and Main Street in Coon Rapids on May 13. Authorities allege Wiles used his vehicle to block the victim in with his car and threatened to kill him, causing the victim to fear for his and his children’s safety. According to law enforcement, Wiles has a history of harassing the victim. Wiles’ jury trial is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Oct. 20 with a pretrial conference slated for Thursday, Aug. 13. Each aggravated misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of up to two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
