No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Carroll. The Carroll Police Department was dispatched to the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Court Street at approximately 8:52 p.m. Their initial investigation revealed 71-year-old Eugene Friedrichsen of Atlantic was traveling eastbound on the highway in a 2019 Ford F150 and was slowing for a yellow traffic light. At the same time, a 2020 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 30-year-old Heather Green of Auburn, was also traveling eastbound and collided with the rear of the Friedrichsen truck. Green told authorities she had dropped an item on the floor and did not see the slowing vehicle while trying to retrieve it. Functional damage was reported to both vehicles. Greene was cited for failure to maintain control.
