A Storm Lake man remains in custody Tuesday after a Friday arrest for the alleged sexual assault of a child. The Storm Lake Police Department reports they were notified on Friday of a sexual abuse that occurred within the city limits in 2017. The reporting party told authorities that 45-year-old Marvin R. Calderon-Coronado had assaulted a child under 14 years of age on two occasions. That day, Calderon-Coronado was located and taken into custody. He has been charged with second-degree sexual abuse, a class B felony, three counts of indecent contact with a child and one count of child endangerment, all aggravated misdemeanors. He was booked into the Buena Vista County jail and held on a $25,000 bond. The Iowa Department of Human Services and the MercyOne Child Advocacy Center assisted with the investigation.
