St. Anthony Regional Hospital (SARH) hosted a special thank you event Tuesday evening to celebrate the Building Hope capital campaign volunteers and donors as they surpass a major fundraising milestone for the new regional cancer center. A dozen of the key figures in the campaign’s success to date held up numbered cards as President and CEO, Ed Smith, read off the current total.
The St. Anthony Foundation launched the Building Hope campaign in February of 2019 with the goal of raising $7 million for the $17.5 million, 21,000 square foot cancer center on the hospital’s campus in Carroll. The campaign committee is chaired by Barry and Mary Bruner, Tom and Jean Farner and Matt and Peggy Greteman, alongside multiple honorary co-chairs and numerous volunteers. Development Director, Trish Roberts, says their dedication made surpassing the $10 million mark possible.
While thrilled with the campaign’s success so far, Greteman says they still have work to do.
Carroll County native and Iowa Nice Guy, Scott Siepker, spoke prior to the announcement and encouraged volunteers and donors to give themselves credit for helping to create something that will benefit so many people in the region.
Work on the regional cancer center continues on schedule with an anticipated opening date of Dec. 7. If interested in supporting the Building Hope capital campaign, contact Roberts using the information included below.
