There is no doubt that local businesses have seen the effects of COVID-19 on their bottom line, but things have been looking up recently. Carroll Chamber of Commerce Business Development Director, Rosanne Nees, says they have been receiving favorable reports from members.
The Chamber has been doing even more to promote shopping local during the pandemic with several different promotions. Nees says they are unveiling another one this coming Sunday that gives something back to the shoppers as well.
There are 20 participating businesses and when patronizing that retailer, shoppers will receive $5 in fun money for every $50 they spend. The businesses’ names will be written on the fun money script and the receipt stapled to that, and then these can be redeemed later, but only at the same place.
Nees says this may also encourage a little more in sales now. The promotion will begin Sunday, Sept. 13 and run through Saturday, Sept. 19. The fun money can then be redeemed from Sunday, Sept. 20 through Saturday, Oct. 31. A full listing of participating businesses can be found below. The Chamber is also working on the details for their upcoming Moonlight Madness one-day sales on the Thursday before Halloween, Oct. 29. Nees says this has included trick-or-treating for the kids in recent years, but the retail committee has not yet made any determination on whether or not that will be done this year. Questions can be directed to the Chamber at 792-4383.
