Carroll County Supervisor Marty Danzer sits on the Solid Waste committee and at a meeting Tuesday morning said the group discussed a joint project with the City of Carroll on a leachate line from the landfill to the city wastewater treatment plant.
Danzer said there have been a lot of issues with the line plugging in the last year. They are hoping to be able to upgrade yet this year.
New four-inch lines would replace the two-inch line and then the city will be running a 10-inch line parallel to that. If businesses develop there, they will be able to tie into the line and it will be sufficient to handle the load. Danzer said the landfill will be responsible for replacing the two-inch portion then it will be a joint effort between the landfill, the city and the county for the 10” section.
