Cities all over the state have been hammering out budgets for fiscal year 2017, and city officials in Lake View and Wall Lake are no different. They’ve been working together to approve a mutually beneficial agreement for Lake View to provide law enforcement services in Wall Lake. Under the new contract, Lake View City Clerk Scott Peterson says, there’s around $10,000 of annual savings for Wall Lake which prompted a special request from their city officials.
At their meeting on Monday night Lake View officials approved the earlier start date along with their own request for an additional year of contracted services. Peterson says the agreement terms are a good thing for both cities.
Under the contract the law enforcement services will be based out of Lake View.
The city of Wall Lake has also approved the two year contract and will pay $39,432 per year for Lake View’s Police services. The new contract will start retroactively to March 1, 2016 with an end date of June of 2018.
