The Ar-We-Va High School volleyball team recently donated over $3,000 raised from their annual Pink Out game at the beginning of the month. The money was raised through a serve-a-thon, where people pledge money for successful serves, and by selling cookies. Of the $3,250 generated, $1,500 of went to the Omaha Hope Lodge, which provides housing for individuals undergoing cancer treatments. Another $1,250 was donated to St. Anthony Regional Hospital in support of the new cancer center that is scheduled to begin accepting patients in Carroll by the end of the year. The final $500 was presented to the Check the Girls Foundation, which provides gas cards and meal certificates for women undergoing cancer treatment or seeking preventative care. Ar-We-Va hosted their annual Pink Out on Tuesday, Oct. 6 in Westside.
