Lake View Fire Department’s FY22 Budget Request Unchanged From Last Year

The Lake View Fire Department’s funding request for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 is unchanged from the previous year. The Lake View City Council and the townships’ boards of trustees met Monday evening for the annual review the department’s finances and operations. Lake View Administrator, Scott Peterson, says the department is in excellent shape.

The Lake View Fire Department’s total funding request for FY21 was just under $67,500, and Peterson says they are seeking a nearly identical amount again this year.

Part of the annual meeting includes a review of the department’s pending capital needs. Peterson says they do not expect any substantial expenditures, but there are several items due for replacement.

Another piece the department is considering replacing is their equipment bus, which they use to deliver safety gear for firefighters arriving at an active scene. Peterson expects the request will be granted in full, but it will not be made official until the city submits its budget to the Iowa Department of Management at the end of March.
